The Poplar Beach Resort is located near the Green Lake. They offer lakeside camping and waterfront, log cabins that sleeps up to 6 people, 37 campsites most of them serviced with power and water, picnic tables and fire pits, washrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, dump-facilities nearby, grocery store with marine gas-station, boat launch and dock, public phone, access to hiking, biking and ATV trails. The 4 cabins close to the lakeshore , offers accommodation for 6 people on two levels each cabin has 3 double beds, kitchen with fridge, electric range, running water, pots and pans, cutlery, picnic table and fire pit in front of the cabin and electric heating. |
Description of Green Lake Provincial Park - Sunset View campground:
Green Lake is made up of 11 parcels of land. Six of these parcels have developed facilities. The open rangeland and mixed forests of aspen and lodgepole pine found here are typical of the Cariboo's landscape. Green Lake is one of the larger bodies of water in the southern portion of the Cariboo. The lake is about 14 km long averaging 1.5 km in width with an irregular shoreline of approximately 57 km. The lake has a low flushing rate and together with the chemical composition of the warm shallow waters, creates the greenish hue giving the lake its name.
Campsite reservations are accepted at both Emerald Bay and Sunset View campgrounds, which are located at opposite sides of Green Lake and first-come, first-served sites are also available. |
