Upper Lillooet Provincial Park was established on July 28, 1997, and is composed of valley bottom old-growth forests, wetland habitat, high alpine ridges and glaciers.
This is a remote backcountry area with no developed trails or any other facilities, so access is limited.
This park is a great destination for those seeking to experience the remote wilderness through backcountry hiking and wilderness camping. |
Description of Up the Creek Backpackers B&B:
Situated on the beautiful Sunshine Coast just 14km from the ferry terminal at Langdale, Up The Creek is a small, family-run cedar house nestled amongst many large cedar and fir trees, and is an easy 10-minute walk to the “Heart of the Creek”. The house includes a full country style kitchen with the chance to try out a wood cook stove, a large sun-deck with hammocks and barbeque, friendly common areas, an ‘occasional’ hot tub and a book swap. Enjoy yoga in our half-acre garden, play volleyball as the sun sets or just laze back on your bunk and listen to the sound of silence.
We offer both bunk style beds in shared accommodation, and private room options, and include a self-serve breakfast for a small extra cost. Tea and Coffee is included in the nightly rate.
Up The Creeks’ owners, Marney, Martin & son Coulter, are committed to providing top quality affordable accommodation for the traveler and adventurer, whilst remaining in harmony with the local community and environment.
Take time to enjoy the attractions of Roberts Creek and the Southern Sunshine Coast. In the summer the area offers stunning hiking trails at Cliff Gilker Park, kayaking, mountain biking, road cycling, beaches and Provincial parks, scuba diving, fishing, horse riding, the most stunning ferry rides in North America, and many events featuring local art and artisans.
In the winter there is unequalled snow-shoeing and cross country skiing at Tetrahedron and Dakota Ridge, year round mountain biking, and of course, a seemingly endless showcase of eclectic music and bands at the Gumboot Garden café, the Roberts Creek Hall, and at the local Legion. There’s always something going on! |
